Storming the Hill Since 1969! #WayBackWednesday

It’s the 1990s, and our Association is making waves on Capitol Hill. During this decade, we released an innovative health care plan for military families, which included recommendations that were later incorporated into TRICARE.

Twenty years later, we are still on the forefront of TRICARE issues, including those controversial topics that your military family needs answers to. Not finding the answers you need? Leave us a comment and let us know how we can help!

My Dad was in the Navy, regular and reserve for 39 years. He was healthy as a horse until the last 5 months of his life. He needed some inpatient nursing care and used up his 100 days of Medicare. TRICARE approved him for the rehab facility and paid the next two weeks through October 2013. He died of heart failure toward the end of November the next month. The problem is TRICARE is balking about helping pay for his care for 27 days in November. First they say he was not approved. Which makes no sense, as they paid for part of his care in October 2013. Then they said they needed proof he had used his 100 days of Medicare. That was faxed to them. Yesterday we received a denial because of status. They seemed to not know where he went??

    This is unconscionable and unacceptable.

I am considering calling our Senator and asking for help with this. I don’t know what else to do.
